First time Tanning Guide
When you get into your tanning room, make sure to ask how to operate the bed. Most tanning beds have radios or stereos along with plenty of fans to keep you cool. You donò€™t want to waste time figuring out how to work all the electronicsò€”just ask for help! Also make sure the bed is clean, and if not, donò€™t be afraid to ask someone to clean it for you (or clean it yourself). When you are all ready in your room, apply tanning lotion. Try out samples from the tanning salon before you commit to buying a big bottle. Tanning lotions are imperative to getting a good, even tan. Donò€™t bring lotions from home. Tanning lotions used for outdoor tanning are different from indoor tanning and can damage the beds. Most tanning salons also have stickers you can wear so you can see a decorative patch of un-tanned skin underneath, which will help you know how tan you are and when your tan fades.
One big question many people have is what to wear. Swim suit? Underwear? Birthday suit? Most people strip down and tan in the nude. Do whatever makes you feel comfortableò€”just remember to lock the door before you start skin tanning !
Your tanning bed will have a timer, so donò€™t worry that youò€™ll get stuck in there forever and not know when to come out. When the bed turns off, wipe yourself down (you will be sweaty!), and get dressed. Follow proper tanning etiquette and leave the room as clean as possible. Donò€™t forget to make an appointment on your way out. Next time, youò€™ll feel like a pro!
