The required things are a good quality shampoo, conditioner, T-shirt, Rat tail comb, Hair clips, Spray bottle with water, styling product if you require and a curling iron.Before you go to bed at night, wash and condition your hair. By braiding you would be able to effectively style your hair with the curling iron in the morning. Make sure that you keep the curling iron in the medium low heat so as to prevent over heating your hair and causing damage to it.
If you are in the habit of applying styling gel then apply it to one undone braiding. Slide the curling iron from the middle to the tip of your hair and roll it upwards thereby giving you the desired curls in your thick kinky hair.
